Dr. Edwin (Ed) Riley’s dental education began in grade school when he would listen to his father prepare slide presentations for national and international meetings. While in college, he worked in the department of Cytokine Biology at Forsyth Dental Center, in Boston, helping with different research projects. He is included as a co-author on the published research in the Journal of Dental Research. Dr. Riley graduated cum laude from Boston College earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he excelled and was awarded the American College of Prosthodontics Award. His postdoctoral training was at Boston University in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. On completion of his program, Dr. Riley took a position as an instructor at the dental school and started working in private practice with his father.
He is the consulting team dentist for the Boston Red Sox, and he also provides team dental coverage for the Boston Bruins. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Academy for Sports Dentistry. He stays current by attending continuing education courses sponsored by local and national organizations including the Academy of Prosthodontics and the American Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.
